I agree that the S197 is a better car overall! All i was simply trying to say was that in my real world experience it does not respond any better to typical boltons. The ones i've seen gain about 40 rwhp with full boltons (270 stock to 310 bolt ons) and roughly the same with mine (230 stock to 270 boltons).

Again the ones i've seen were on the same dyno that i was on. So even if the dyno is off, it shows a similar response to bolt ons. If guys are pulling 320 ish where you're at, then that means i would be pulling 280 ish...all things being equal of course!

I have an 04 Gt with full bolt on mods and ive raced 05 mustang GT with full mods as well and ive spanked them by at least one car. it might have 300+ HP but it does not compare to the 2v Gt. i guess the 3v is way more heavy then the 2v, so thats where everything comes in.

are you sure it wasnt a v6 ? I would like to think a full bolt on s197 GT would spank you with full bolt ons unless the driver was a 16 y/o valley girl.

Honestly (i know i'll probably get called out for this) but in my actual experience, a full bolt on S197 isn't much faster (if at all in some cases) than a full bolt on new edge! I realize that in most cases (at least the ones i've read) this usually doesn't happen.

I'll give you 2 examples: 1) My brother's manual 06 gt, at that time, had full exhaust, cai, udp's, tune, and 4.10's. He put down over 300 rwhp with these mods. Then there is me (mods and numbers in sig). Long story short... and after numerous runs...we were basically dead even from a roll, and it was a drivers race from a dig. Next, was my buddy's manual 08 gt with full exhaust, cai, throttle body, driveshaft, tune, and 3.73's, and he put down 308 rwhp. We only raced once from a 2nd gear roll at 25-30 mph. I got a 1/2 car jump and held it untill the top of 4th gear. From his perspective, i wasn't pulling, but he wasn't gaining.

I'm sure some cars just run stronger than others, and driver skill is key, but i can only go with what i've actually experienced on the streets.

If by 3V and 2V you mean the cars themselves and not the actual engines, the S197 cars weigh maybe another hundred pounds, two hundred max. I doubt the engines themselves have much of a difference in weight as well.

I wonder if the full bolt on S197 GT cars that aren't much quicker than the 2V full bolt on cars have bigger wheels on them to slow them down. On paper, they should be a bit faster than a full bolt on 2V car.

I think you guys are forgetting that the S197 has major suspension advantages over the new edge, such as coil overs and a 3 link out back. It handles amazing for a SRA vehicle. Read some C&D reviews on it, you might be suprised on its response through the twisties, even stock.
