Go for it, you will be the only one who is wrong. youll get a nice fat dyno chart with a max of 240 HP at the wheels
All you need to do is look at the water pump and see if its a short bolt or long bolt. Long bolts have t45s.
Do you have pictures of both? Being unfamiliar to mustangs I wont be able to tell what it is..
What about the VIN number? Is there any "Up to this number is early, and this to this is late"?
Also Im sorry for Ben being uninformed about the power output. I told him it felt like 280-290hp, maybe even 300. Its about as fast as my Audi on pump gas, and that put out 255AWHP and a very flat tq curve. I have a Gtech RR that I'll put it on. When he see's a 230whp number he'll shut up. If its over 240 I'll save the graph and have him post it up.
PS: Ben, its now how easy you drive, its how much you let the clutch drag. Being a new driver on a clutch will do it. Its not your fault (Well it is but), Its just a bad combination of things. An inexperienced driver shouldnt drive a clutch with that stiff of a pressure plate. As said by this, and the clutch in the Porsche (that was my girlfriend).
In order to identify what kind of Mustang transmission you have, you need to check the door tag on your drivers side door jam. If you look down to the bottom right of the tag, you should see an area labeled "TR." Underneath this label there are 5 letters and numbers. The only one that we are concerned with is the first alpha-numeric character which corresponds to your Mustang Transmission.
If you have a 6 as your first digit, you have five-speed manual, T-45 OD Mustang Transmission. This is the standard Mustang transmission that is found in 1996 to Mid 2001 Mustang GTs as well as 1996 to 1998 Mustang Cobras. If you have a 5 as your first digit, your car came with a T-5 OD Mustang transmission. Finally, if you have a K as the first digit in the "TR" code, you have a TR-3650. This Mustang Transmission is found in mid-2001 to 2004 Mustang GT, the 2003 and 2004 Mach1 and the 2001 Cobra. The 2005-2007 manual Mustang GT's also a T-3650. From AmericanMuscle.com
So check it out. Turns out I do have the TR3650 tranny. So what do you guys think about this clutch? i mean its Ford Racing...so I assume its pretty good...but ya'll probablly know better.
