Default 13.8 mpg?? come in and help me out

Granted i did some spirited driving and i had the AC on for the whole tank of gas, is 13.8 mpg normal??? i usually get like 16.. but i did a whole tank of gas highway and i only got 18mpg and that was cruising around 75 without air conditioning on that tank of gas... WTF is goin on here? car is an 01 5spd with 60k on the clock. do i need a tune up? (new fuel filter, clean out air filter, new spark plugs?)

ALSO, when i first start my car up, it fires up and roars like it should.. but if i drive the car and than shut it off and come back to drive again in an hour or two, the car will start, but it BARELY starts.. it doesnt roar like that first start up... its a guessing game as to whether or not its going to start on me or not... is that a spark plug issue or do you think my battery is running outta juice? bc i can def use a new battery too

AND ONE MORE THING --- if im ripping through first gear and i go to shift into 2nd at like 5000-5500rpm my clutch will make a SQUEALING noise... is that normal? ive heard it is, but i think its time for a new clutch anyway..

Could be the battery, but doesn't sound like it. Have it checked out at autozone.

Sounds more like fuel/air filter or plugs. Could be a combination, or could just be one.

Sounds like tune up time, I normally pull 25-27 highway. Very possible the start up issue is also related to the ignition system, or fuel system and be covered under the tune up. I also have the high rpm squeak, but someday I hope to get the high rpm tire chirp to dround it out

I'd say around 80,000-100,000 miles is a good time for new plugs.

also might be the stock CoP's failing when they warmup, I've been through that. shouldn't be if it's a 2003+ model.

tire chirp is over-rated.. its all about sticking to the pavement =) so what should i do with my tune up???

spark plugs (what kind?) and ill check my compression ratio while im in there
clean my air filter
get a new fuel filter? (my dad says i dont need to bc fuel is cleaner now than way back then?) i feel like i should get one anyway
and im definitely getting a new battery.

am i missing anything?
