Default Smoked Covers with HID?

Anyone running these together?

In particular I was thinking about doing the smoked covers from AM and 55w 6000K HIDs. I'm just worried that having the covers will negate the improved lighting from the HID upgrade. If anyone can share some pics of the lighting with covers on I would really appreciate that.

GF is buying me something for my birthday and I'm torn between HIDs and a pillar gauge pod for a wideband a/f.. Help me decide!

Go with the hids if you only have one gauge to put in there. No clue if the covers will negate the hids, but im assuming they wont be too bad

I'd pick up a fuel pressure gauge too but it would just be for playing with the Sniper tuner for now lol. Not going FI for a year most likely.

The smoked covers will limit the output no matter what the source of light behind them. Some of those covers add a brown quality to the light color too, so it may effect the color output you are trying to reach with x000k HID.
