Default How to get stuck shift **** off?

I found someone to trade me a silver Bullitt shift **** for my white Roush ****, but my **** was put on with loctite, and I can't budge it.

I've tried using a rubber grip thing and it didn't help any, I thought about using a strap wrench but I don't think it will go small enough.

if worst comes to worst and you cant get it off just lift the leather boot up, unscrew the two screws holding the lever on, slide it out through the top of the leather boot and just give him the whole thing and have him do the same.

If you do this, make sure that the both of you have a stock shifter assembly.

Mine just unscrewed off with a death grip. Not sure why anybody needs to put on locktite for a shifter ****.....

The 5 and 6 speed engraved ones don't always line up accordingly so ppl use the locktite to make it nice and straight..including myself.

Ok, so apparently the white stuff around the threads of the shift handle wasn't any loctite-like product, but the residue that came off with the **** when it was installed.

It finally came off.

if the roush **** is some type of plastic and locktite was used on the plastic thread it mostly likely did some hairline cracking where ever the locktite and plastic met but if it isnt plastic or not plastic thread then your good.
