Okay well i'm new to the ford brand and i am in the process of buying a 1999 mustang GT with cai, flowmaster 40's, cobra r 18''s cobra hood, blacked out head and tail lights. and its 5 speed. I'm not sure what to expect out of this car performance wise. like est 1/4 times or est 0-60. i'm a decent driver. And i would also like to know of a few mods to get me in the 13's. Thank you for reading and i'm excited to get into this thing.

if u want performance get rid of the 18's. im guessing flowmaster 40's are welded in so u could get a full 2.5" exhaust, x or h pipe, long tube headers, suspension... lots of things
Well i'm planning on keeping the gears. I think they are 3:27's right? But exhaust yes, thats a must, what about underdrive pullies? I'll end up getting DR's too. How hard is it to install a short throw shifter?
On paper, it should already run 13.9@100 stock. But if you can't drive, mid 14's seem reasonable. 4.10's and some DR's will get you there pretty quickly. 3.27's are a bit too high for drag racing. Had them and they were JUNK. No power off the line and no power while rolling. 3.73 is your best compromise between fuel efficiency, racing and comfort. And yes, you do have 3.27's.

It's the only mod I had a shop do for me. I too did not want to mess with the rear. I had mine installed for $450 including the gears back in 06. Your car will really feel much quicker. It's truly the best bang for your buck other than N20. And for the price of the the exhaust, I would do gears first.

Yeah sure. Just make sure you follow the instructions and what not. Do not be too judicious with the bottle. I would read up on it too, to make sure you do not make any mistakes. BTW, I am running 15psi boost through a stock block and internals with 100,000 miles. Over 500 horsepower too(crank) and through an Auto.
