Default Smoked Headlights and HIDs?

ok, so i've had smoked headlights with silvania silverstars for a while now, and while it looks bada$$ on a black stang, its dim as hell at night. I've lived in pretty well lit areas my whole life so it hasnt been a problem. Recently I started dating a girl that lives about 25 miles away from me on one of the only un-lit major highways in CT...go figure.

so aside from ditching the girl and finding one closer, I was hoping I could do something to make the headlights brighter without losing the smoked lenses.

HID kit from american muscle looks pretty nice, but i was wondering if it would even make a difference on my lenses.

don't go HID, it will be blinding to other people and you still won't be able to see very well. there are a lot of misconceptions about HIDs. i'm probably one of the more knowledgable people about them. you want to see well and keep a nice look? get a nice set of projector headlights made for HID optics and throw a set of 5000k SINGLE beam HIDs in there. do not, under any circumstances, get a dual beam kit. HIDs are already dangerous enough, without adding the unpredictability of the "dual beam" kits. if you have any questions, pm me, because the same thing happens every time. i try to inform peolpe about HID use, 10 people come in here and say "i have them and no one has ever flashed their high beams at me, so it must be ok."

they exist but i hate the look of projectors....like a wannabe bmw.... i dunno. half the new cars on the market have a HID option to them. My girl has a scion TC and between her factory headlights and fogs its like turning the sun on the road ahead of you it so bright... so call me selfish, but half the cars on the road today are blinding....

i'm not doing it for looks, im doing it more for personal safety

that's basically saying you're sacrificing the safety of others for your own. HIDs are illegal for a reason. theres no way to make them safe for you and safe for others at the same time, it's just not possible with the tools you're given.

for a good read on HIDs and to fully explain what i'm trying to say, click here

i appreciate where you're coming from, but how can HID's be illegal when they come standard on so many vehicles? I dont think half the people out there driving merc's and bmw's give a sh*t how bright their car is.

hell, i dont even know what lights are in the scion tc that i mentioned, but its as bright as day and blinding as hell to be in front of, from the factory...
