Default Alright, I want a hoodscoop

My car is black. It's a 2000. I want a hoodscoop like the 01-04's have.

What is the most logical way to go about doing this? I have never done exterior work like this. What's the first step?

I got the same year same color and I agree our hoods look really bad.

I would just look for the hood you want. It's not worth the time blending a scoop into your hood IMO

Well, so are you saying that it would be in my best interest to just look for the actual hood from an 01-04? I like the spoiler my car has though for some reason...

Unless you can get the same color scoop and install it, it will not be worth it. For the price of the hood scoop and paint you could buy a new hood. Would cost a bit more in the end because of paint but I wouldn't bother with the scoop.

I'd get the right hood and put the scoop on. If you really like the hood scoop that much, that's probably the best way to make it look right.

I happen to love the way the scoop looks on the 01-04. I could care less if it was functional, because it just looks good.

Of course, you could always sell your car and get an 01-04 Mustang with the hood scoop already on the car. Then again, if you start thinking about this, then putting a new hood and scoop on your car will probably sound like a real bargain.

Good luck.

Mine cost me 75 bucks, and is wayyy stronger than OEM scoops

@OP: Just get a cowl or some nice looking hood instead of the scoop.

Screw the fake hoodscoop, CDC Shaker FTW or go with an aftermarket hood.
