Default Hypertech Tuner??

I've read some threads and people have all kinds of opinions about the Hypertech tuners. I'm taking delivery of an '02 GT this FRiday and want to do a couple things to it while in college. Should removing the tuner be one of them? This is my first car newer than 1987 so the tuning and programming is kind of new to me. Let me know what you think.

Well it would seem to me that no matter what the tuner, it will be an improvement over stock. Honestly, getting it dynoed would be the best thing for it.....not that much more expensive than a new SCT tuner

Like I tell everyone before they buy a tuner..Contact whoever you plan on having tune your car and see which they prefer. Most tuners prefer SCT over Diablo. You will not notice really anything, maybe seat of pants feel from a crappy canned tune.

my hypertech is useless except to calibrate speedo for gears. I really need to buy one with a better tune and one that can turn off mil's

Wow, from what I hear, first thing I'll be doing it is dynoing it. I live right by a a Wyotech so that won't be hard. I'll ask Joel who is there what he prefers to use. And yeah, pretty much why the tuner is there is because the guy I'm getting it off of put in 4.10s and it needed calibrated. Thanks guys, figured I'd ask Mustang people first. Whenever I get the car, I'll post a lot more pictures of it. Thanks again.
