I think so as far as i know all 4v mod motors run 93 octane. i have seen a few lincoln aviators and navigators with burnt valves from running regular fuel. But it might say on your instrument cluster and/or in your owners manual.

doesnt it say it on the cluster if it requires premium? my truck says on the cluster to only fuel with premium, says it right under the gas gauge.... i dont think any car comes from the factory tuned for 93 since 93 isnt available all over the country, i know my truck is supposed to run 91, which is the highest octane you can get in some places...i run 93 in it because most places around here are 87 89 93...speedway is 87 89 92 ...sunoco just recently got rid of 94 and replaced it with 91...but what im getting at is, to my knowledge, no car comes from the factory needing 93 octane

and 2000az was right about fuel mileage, but the gain is so minimal that it would most likely be cancelled out by the 20-30 cent price difference per gallon

**edit, my truck is a harley f150, so it is a ford product...i would assume it would be the same for them all

Your vehicle is
designed to use
“Premium” unleaded
gasoline with an
(R+M)/2 octane rating of 91 or higher for optimum
performance. The use of gasolines with lower octane
ratings may degrade performance. We do not
recommend the use of gasolines labeled as
“Premium” in high altitude areas that are sold with
octane ratings of less than 91.
If your engine knocks under most driving conditions
while you are using fuel with the recommended
octane rating, see your dealer or a qualified service
technician to prevent any engine damage.
