Thanks for the link. I was actually thinking of doing it that way. So no heat gun is required with your way of rolling the fender?

As long as you're not trying to do it on a cold day, you'll be fine. That's a good point, I should have mentioned. If you're in a garage 70* would be a good temp to keep it around. Using a heat gun can go wrong REALLY quick.

Unless you're a Pro, I wouldn't use anything more than a Blow dryer for anything near paint.

It's not exactly rocket science, no matter what way u do it all you are doing is bending a thin metal lip upward. You will not go to hell for using a bat instead of mallet or $250 wonder tool which is just a wheel on a arm.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard. I hope you'd go to hell for using a bat.

Okay people have been doing it that way for years, but since it's dumbest thing you've heard it's automaticly wrong. That's a dumb way to think.

And you do not buy the wonder tool...you rent it. And its purposefully built to roll fenders. as baseball bats are ment to hit home runs into the grandstands or pop flies to left field...not roll fenders So its kinda like taking our stangs off-roading. Using it in manors other than intended.

Using a Bat to roll fenders is more of a urban legend than it's actual fact of usage. I'm sure there are lots of people that have did it or tried to do it but that doesn't mean it's a real way to do it.

I've been around old hotroders for as long as I can remember. People that have built cars with Boyd Coddington and other great builders and not one of those people have EVER thought that was a good idea, lol. It's not a good idea because it's stupid. Especially when there are better was of doing it that are less invasive and retarded.

You are absolutely right, I'm not debating that bats were designed to roll fenders I was just saying that it is an easy cost effective way to do it if u were interested. I don't know about where u live but in Chicago u have to pay the full price of the tool to rent it. That's the only reason I suggested the bat.
