ok so i bought an 04 GT and it has 40th ann. badges on the sides...but i noticed inside there is no special things to the interior that makes me believe its a 40th.
what does a 40th come with? leather? MACH sound system? any special embroidery? thanks for any replies.

The instrument panel should say 40th anniversary on it.

I have an 04 gt, and even though it has the anniversary badges on the side, it doesn't have the "anniversary package." From my understanding our cars are not true anniversary models.
Those particular ones come in only 3 colors i believe, and they have the vinyl stripes over the car. They also have the rocker strip, and some minor interior accents like bullitt pedals, shifter bezel, leather, 40th anniversary logos, etc.
Other than that they're exactly the same.

my 40th has the badges, silver window locks, (not switches, the ones in the top of the door), my shifter has a nice billet ring around it, um... i do have the billet pedals, and thats pretty much it. I think they had special floor mats too.

you probably had what they call the IUP package (interior upgrade package). it included silver radio bezel with the billet ring, larger tilting headrests, and the silver peddles. nothing to do with the 40th anniversary package really.
and to the OP, ALL 2004 mustangs had the 40th anniversary badge on the car, but there was also a 40th anniversary package that you could get that would dress up the interior. nothing unusual about it, but unfortunately, nothing special either

well instead of starting a new thread, for those of you with a Diablo Sport hand held tuner, how would you find out what the car has for a tune?
mine came tuned with the tuner included but i dont know what the tune has in it
Plug it in to you car, follow prompts leading to performance tune. Go into modify parameters. Anything that has been altered will have an asterisk next to it. If nothing in there has been altered, it will still have a generic high octane tune.

All '04s had the 40th Anniversary badges, however there were some special 40th Anniversary models according to the Red Book...
