gt engined cobra?

dude buying a cobra w/ a GT motor is stupid.
the REASON a Cobra is a cobra (for the most part, + some looks and features, etc) IS that the engine is a 4v and not a 2v.
There are no parts you can put on that 2v on a budget that will get you any-where close to the speed of the 4v.
and btw, is the car even a cobra? or is its a GT w/ cobra emblems? no offense, but do you know the differences between the GTs and cobras other then engine size?
Its possible that this guy is just calling it a cobra to get a few extra $1k from somebody, and you are the perfect target (being 16 and not even really knowing any better or what you are getting)
stay away from that car. just the fact it doesn't have the original engine in it is a big red flag in car buying. you don't "upgrade" a cobra to a 2v engine. Something went wrong/happend. Just remember that. this is a bad car and you need to realize that.
as far as can you tell what engine is in the car... take a picture. we can tell you. does the intake have 1 or two connectors on it? (earlier models (i think 98-2001(2002)) have 2 connectors for there MAF and 2003+up only have 1.

1st of all, guys i turn 17 in like 2 months and i've been driving (a POS car) for almost a year. so i'm not a novice driver. and i'm very mature for my age and i know when to not be stupid in a car.
secondly, i know what a PI swap is, its new heads, cam, and intake manifold.
thirdly, my stepfather, and both my stepbrothers have all had mustangs and cobras, and they know about them obviously. my stepbrother that still has a '97 gt drove the cobra and he said that it responded fine and drove fine but obviously its still a gt engine.
fourthly, i live in north carolina and the competition is so extreme for a mustang gt that if a decent one with good miles on it, and for a reasonable price ($4k-5k) shows up on craigslist, then someone else will buy it in the same night.
fifthly, its stupid to have any more insurance than liability because of the fact that if you have collision, your paying the insuracne company money to bet that your going to get in a wreck. but if your a smart driver, then you dont get in a wreck that is your fault and if you do then you just pay for the other person's ****. so i can afford insurance for how much i work.
they way i see it, is that it would basically be a mustang gt with better suspension and looks better, for cheap (we're planning on offering the guy $3500 because it doesnt have the cobra engine in it). and i could always drop in a cobra engine later on in life.
and finally. some nonentity on here asked me if i knew that it was a cobra car and not a gt mustang. well unless someone decided to take a mustang gt and put cobra bumpers, hood, badges, wheels, and a cobra steering wheel and gagues on it. then its a cobra. i seriously doubt anyone would go through that much trouble. now if it had just the cobra badges and front bumper then obviously its a fake.

you sound just like this other kid who used to post here.... wish i still had his quote .."im not an ignorant driver, i did 160 mph down a backroad in my parents gto" or something other...youre 17, youre a bad driver...period. hell ive been driving 3 years and still make novice mistakes while driving sometimes....just because you can drive something, doesnt mean you can drive it well...it takes time to get better at driving, not one year
