Default What can my car handle??

Ok, I finally found a performance shop that actually specializes in the SN95 body styles. Once tax season gets here I am going to have them do a full PI swap on my car. They already have the heads waiting there and they have been ported. While thats being done, I am also going to have them put in hitech stage 2 cams, long tube headers, a different mid pipe and will also have the car dyno tuned. With all that done, my car should be pushing just over 300rwhp. Now here are my two questions. Which mid pipe would you guys recommend?? And I know the answer will probably be yes, but will my high mileage car be ok after doing that to it?? Just trying to be cautious. I have over 152,000 miles on the car and really don't feel like blowing anything out of it. Right now, there is not a thing wrong with the it (other than burning oil) and it has been maintained very well. I am asking because I have heard of people blowing peices out of their high mileage mustangs after doing engine work or during dyno tunes.

If you worried about blowing your engine up, just buy a new forged block and you won't have to worry about a thing

If everything is in good working order you should be fine. It's not like you're pushing a 100 shot or 8-10 pounds of boost here. Even then you would probably be okay.

As far as the mid pipe goes, i'd definantly do a o/r h with the flows. As far as what brand, i'd personally just make sure it's the same brand as the long tubes that you're planning to buy.

Yea, if its burning oil, id be a little cautious and maybe rebuild your engine before the swap. Just as a precaution.

^^^ I agree with above to rebuild your stock motor. How much money are in you dumping into your build? I would set aside 500-1000 for motor rebuild.

Might as well build if the heads are off...

If that's not in the budget or if your not adding F/I or a power adder there is no need to rebuild it. If it's not broken don't fix it.

The reason I am burning oil is because my valve stem seals are leaking which is to be expected with an 11 year old car. And with the PI swap, those will be replaced so I shouldn't have to worry about burning oil anymore.

Id still rebuild while youre in there with that kinda mileage. Just would worry me with that much on the clock to be pushing 300rwhp. Just my opinion though.
