Hey guys. My first mod was an MRT Catted H-pipe. I figured maybe a little write up would be appreciated by some people.
1. It sounds great. It is not obnoxious, but adds a definite rumble and muscle car sound. And that is with stock mufflers. (I can't wait to hear it paired with a new catback).
2. You feel a little bit of power. It's not a ton, but it is slightly noticeable.
3. The stainless steel is great and it is mandrel bent and has high flow cats. So the quality is TOP-NOTCH.
I would definitely recommend the pipe to people looking for a new mid-pipe.
Installation was a little difficult. Granted I bought my car used and it is almost 10 years old. I did have to take it to a shop because I could not budge the bolts connecting the pipe to the headers. But with some PB Blaster and time I did get the bolts that connected the pipe to the cat back. The shop was able to get the stock pipe down and new pipe up and on in about a half hour or so, which was great and probably worth doing to save the frustration (unless you have a lift and can get under the car standing).
Overall, I am very happy with it. Made a great first mod for my Mustang and I can't wait to see how it sounds with a cat back system!

Congrats! I had the MRT catted h on my ride for about 2 years (went with a shorty h and long tubes) before i sold it. I really liked it. Great quality, sound, and a nice power bump. I was actually given a set of the MRT cats themselves, and had them welded into my BBK h pipe.
I had a cat back first, and when i added the MRT pipe it made a big difference in sound. I think you'll be very pleased with the right cat back.
Did you have MRT do the work?

Have you heard the MRT catback with their catted h? It sounds pretty awesome imo. Scott fired up a cutomer car with that combo, and it was an impressive sound for sure!

Anyone know if i would pass smog in California with the MRT catted H. I just put on my mac catback yesterday and sounds awesome but i still want a little more sound. I don't wanna get any tickets for not having cats on so i'd be covered with this, only question is is will i pass smog.

That's funny you ask! I recently had a talk with the owner of MRT about this very subject. I asked about their hi flow cats and emissions testing. He said that one of his coustomers in California passed with their catted h.

It is priced pretty high, but realistically it's still a great value for the materials and quality pipe you are getting (plus the high flow cats). And I thought they were California legal and it sounds like they are, although I have no certain answer on that.

I dread moving where emissions will matter again. But it's coming. How bad is the powerloss with the high flow cats on these? I would like to go with this or a catted X but I want something that will get as close as possible to the gain of a catless pipe.
