Default Push rod motor in Mod car

My motor is shot it has a massive amount of blow by and a blowed head...Was wondering if anyone has ever put a push rod motor in a 4.6 car and what is needed to do this other than motor and tranny?

I have no idea what's needed, but my buddy is in the process of putting a LS3 Chevy motor into his 99 Cobra.

The hood is painted silver, in great shape, does need a color sand, but thats no biggie. Would prefer a swap for a silver one, but will consider many options. Need to trade due to changed plan on this car. RTP/Greensboro/Charlotte

ls1tech if youre putting in an LSX

if you mean pushrod ford motor, a 5.0 is easy as hell to drop in these cars

a 351/460 fit perfectly, but require a lot more work, and if you want to keep all your creature comforts, it can get expensive

honestly, if youre wanting a pushrod engine, i would go for an LSx motor

if the car is just a fun car and you dont mind cutting the ac/ps/pb/fuel injection etc then a 351 or a 460 would be an option to look into

5.0s can make tons of power...but theyre just such small engines...theres no replacement for displacement

tell us what kind of engine you want, and what you want to do with it, and we will be able to point you in the right direction

+1 a 302 is good, but you need an aftermarket block, stroker kit and lots-o-nitrous.

Buddy just put a 5.0 push rod in his 2000 GT with ported heads and off the shelf stage 2 cams and is making 305rwhp. Not very impressive but can easily put a blower on there or a big shot of nitrous and handle it with ease.

HP per $ ... chevy wins every time.
