well as some of you know, my clutch is on its way out. my buddy has a brand new spec stage 3 in the box that i can get for dirt cheap. i know its a little overkill for a bolt on gt, but is it worth it? and will i need anything besides what comes in the kit? thanks

i have one in my car and love it. the only thing i can complain about is if you do alot of city driving in heavy traffic your gonna get a work out in not a bad thing but gets tiring.

If you race, youre probably gonna snap an input shaft...if you race at all, id suggest getting rid of that crappy transmission for something better before you worry about buying a stage 3 clutch. Id rather spend more money on a softer clutch now then have to worry about blowing your transmission with that heavy of a clutch and having to buy/rebuild a transmission. So spend more now so you wont have to spend more later. Kinda same situation that youre in...friend bought an 01 Cobra with a Fidanza 4.3 clutch in it. He blew his transmission and he wasnt even messing around. Heavy clutch + stock transmission=DEATH!!!

^^ yea, my buddy has a 97 cobra with a spec stage 2 and the input shaft snapped...
Really? That doesn't sound right. A Spec Stage 2 is a perfect replacement for a stock or bolt-on setup. A Stage 3 on a street car is going to give you leg cramps!
