Default 4v swap or heads and cams?

Started saving a few $$ snd im not sure what to do with it. i was thinking a mark viii motor with some comp cams or just cobra intake cams but heck idk where to start. this car is my DD so it couldnt be down for too long and would obviously have to be fairly reliable. on the other hand i could just buy CMS's TF head & cam combo and some longtubes. both of these motors will stay naturally asirated.

what would you guys do?

If it is staying N/A then the 4v doesn't really make any sense to me. You mentioned cams for the 4v, that will cost you an arm and a leg. For the same money you can get way more out of a 2v and be making more power.

+1 those 4v cams are a pretty penny... So to answer your question heads and cams would be the way i would go cause bear in mind your also gonna need a tune as well which cost some monies too.

Well, everything for the 4v is more expensive. BUT if staying N/A, you can make more power with the 4v than the 2v, but I'd do it with a 99/01 Cobra or 03/04 Mach motor, since the B heads on the Mark VIII motor are good, but the shine when revving high or under boost. So the C heads are a better option.

Or for simplicity go with the 2v, but it won't make as much N/A power as a well built 4v.

^ I agree! Having a second car is very nice, especially when your upgrading or have problems with your Mustang.

One thing that, for me, makes it difficult to answer your question is what are your goals for your Mustang?

having a fast mustang > life itself

no.

having a fast mustang = life.

already have another car kinda. dad wants me to start driving his truck cause he never drives it and he feels bad that it doesnt get driven lol id rather not do that though since its his nice truck, if i just cam my 2v would that affect reliability?

goal for my car would be have a badass n/a 4.6 streetcar. that is capable of 11's. i know a 2v could do it with the trickflow heads so im sure a 4v could as well. its just choosing which one lol

Honestly, after putting a Mark VIII 4V in, I would say to go with it. I am beyond happy with my 4V. The throttle response is better, the power band is smoother, the gas mileage is better, and the power is outstanding.
