Of course it all depends on the rest of the exhaust. My SSS Terminators are very deep, partly because i have a catted h and long tubes.
my setup is one of the deepest iv ever heard on a mustang. Lts, hallowed out cats h pipe with lm2s. The hallowed out cats acts like another muffler I think making it even deeper. It sounds freaking amazing. No rasp, great tone.. loud as hell when you stomp on it.

So it's actually deeper than with the cats? It stands to reason that those hollowed out cats might act like resonators. Do you have a clip by chance?

Yeah, it seems that straight through mufflers can get really deep with a catted mid pipe...especially the h. That can change in a big way with a o/r pipe i've noticed.

No I dont. I have an exhaust leak I need to fix first before I make one. I have been through 4 midpipes with this setup already and I found the winner with the hallowed out cats/h pipe.

The only thing I havnt tried is a catted X which I know would sound tits.

O/r pipes sounded terrible to be honest. The x only sounded good at certain RPMs(past 2000) and the h was really bad ass but when you went WOT it made a loud clapping sound over n over.. screw that lol.

I have a VRS o/r x in my garage im going to eventually get cats for n have it welded up to fit. untill then my current set-up owns

Earlier this year at a car show i heard a 03 stang with LM 1's, catted x, and long tubes. It sounded pretty damn good imo! A little too raspy for me, but very mean nontheless.

It didn't have quite the deep tone of the LM 2's, Stingers, etc.

My exhaust is loud as hell and I love it. It's not just "loud" because I'm not a fan of that. It has so a mean tone to it and always makes me smile haha

This is the best sound clip I have of my car. My exhaust is different from this now, but if you like the sound I can point you in the right direction. Disregard the last clip of my friend attempting to rev my car and making it sound gross.
