Default Trade?

I was a total car whore before I got my stang, but I got pretty attached to it once I started modding it so I kept it around. I love it and would love to be able to keep it sitting in my parents garage while I'm at college, but I can't afford another car without trading it in. It's just not practical at all for me right now. I get ridiculously awful gas mileage and can hardly drive it anywhere on campus because its too low to get over all the speed bumps.

I'm trying to find something that I could live with myself trading for right now...something with good gas mileage, some storage room, practical, preferably rwd and quick.

Ideas:
1.) Cadillac CTS 3.6 m/t
2.) WRX/Evo
3.) BMW 3 Series
4.) Mazdaspeed 6
5.) Cobalt SS

You wont want to here it.. but sell it privatly and get an integra GSR or something like that. A CLEAN one can be had for under 4 grand and they get 30mpg. Its all you need but still fun to drive.

If not option 4/5 are your best. How are you getting such bad GM? I get 23 with full bolt ons and 4.10s..and thats with a T45, you should be getting better.

Honestly, a 240SX sounds like what you are after. When I was looking for a car, I wanted a Mustang, a z28, a 300zx, or a 240SX. The 240 got the best mileage of them all, plus they can be had pretty cheap.

Yup.. something along those lines is what you NEED. If you had a head on your shoulders you would find a late 90s civic and SAVE your money.

Just my .02 but If I could do it all over again, I would have just kept the truck I had, saved my money while im in school. I graduate in a few yrs and I just now decided to start cutting back on all the BS for my car. (i realize Im about to buy cams.. but thats tax return money not my paycheck money lol).I am lucky I found a decent job where I have extra money to save now.

Just something to think about. I would get a car that your not going to want to mod.. that will give you more money for a girl/pizza/beer.

Yeah, that is why I bought the cheapest mustang that I found. I now have a 4V stang for under $2500. It runs and it drives, it's not the prettiest, but it certainly gets the job done and can hang with much newer stangs in the power range.

Those late 90's civics are NICE too. After 95 they get to be damn nice cars. DO NOT, under any circumstances buy a Geo metro! Those things are bigger money pits than and performance car.

Money is money no matter how you get it.

I don't know about everyone else but I am a full time student and I can still afford to pay my car off, mod it, auto-x it, open track it, get food regularly and live life normally.

I see kids that are in school and don't work. That is lazy IMO.

I dont budget monthly for a tax return check so i wont miss it when I get it.

And a huge +1 to the lazy part.. The only reason im not modding the crap out of my car is because im saving for an engagement ring and a down payment on a house. If I had my way I would have a built motor with TF heads sittin on top.... in due time
