Question Borla vs. Borla

I have a 2000 GT 2V with BBK long tube headers, O/R H-pipe, and borla dual chamber mufflers. I LOVE the Borla tone but they're a bit quiet for my taste. (Last car was a 94 5.0 Cobra with X-pipe and Bullets on a Trick Flow built engine...LOUD!).

So here's the question...I'm wondering what kind of a difference I would see if I switched to the Borla S-type "race" mufflers. I'm looking for the same or similar tone but just with more volume. I've looked also at Bullets but don't really love the way they sound on a 2v 4.6 and I'd just about go open headers before I'll put something "cookie cutter" on my pony like a Flowmaster 40. Any advise would help...thanks.

-Marcos

P.S. The only exception to the anything but flowmaster rule miiiiiiight be the Flowmaster 10 but I would have to hear it in person to make that decision.

Since you're talking about going from a chambered muffler to a straight through muffler, it should be a little louder for sure.

If you like the Borla sound, then check out SSS Exhaust. Very similar in tone and quality, but like half the price. Their Terminator mufflers are what i have, and they're very loud. Louder than the stingers, but a little quieter than SLP LM 1's.

What's the quality of the SSS? I've never heard of them.

I have the catback you are talking about. W/ a o/r pipe the car was too loud (literally had to buy a pro chamber to help quiet them down a small bit). Check out the link in my sig... most of my videos are w/ bbk lt's, o/r H, and borla stingers

Like i mentioned above, the quality is every bit as good as Borla. They have 2 different versions. The Adrenaline mufflers (they sound very similar to Stingers) have a deep/smooth tone. The Terminator mufflers (deep like Stingers but louder) still deep, but have a louder more raw tone that's loud all the time...part throttle, WOT, and even a more choppy idle. These are the ones i have, and i absolutley love them.

Everthing is mirror polished 304 stainless steel just like Borla. The fitment is awesome too.

I have a small one of me revving it. The first is with a catted h, and the second one is with a o/r x. For whatever reason the vid really just couldn't pick up the sheer volumn and deep base of the system. Nonetheless it'll give you an idea though.
