Default little update on the car

So... I broke number 1 rod into about 6 pieces. Got ahold of a npi bottom end and threw it in. Car was back on the road in a week, great. But few issues, got em all fixed sept one, its pig rich, I think its an o2 sensor. I'm so damn frusturated w the car that I was going to trade it in and be done, but that didn't work out. In the mean time I got a new, better, job. So since I'm keeping the car were not gonna **** around anymore, I'm goin at it like I mean it now. It prolly wnt be done until next summer but I'm thinking a centri, built bottom end, cams, etc. Maybe shoot for mid 400s? Higher? I guess well see. But the nitrous kit is already off and might end up bein for sale. Ill be calling the machine shop I used to work for and getting a price on a bottom end. Then looking into blowers.

Yall have no idea how close I was to getting rid of the mustang and getting an 07 sti. But now I'm motivated again to do something w this car. Guess well see what I end up doing. It better go mid 11s at worse that's all I got to say... Suggestions are welcome, nothings set in stone, all a big brainstorm right now

lol, im sort of opposite haha i had big plans for my car, pretty much lost my job, (not really but took a MAAAJOR cut in hours) and at this point i just wanna get the damn thing back on the road, but now its winter i don't really care, all i can say is its a good time, its gettin chilly in MD lol, tear it apart now, its supposed to be a cold one, even called for possible freezing rain tonight. I'd go Vortech T-trim as its going to be torn apart or a novi 2000 i/c, no problem tapping the pan if you're throwing a new bottom end in anyway, you'll be in there. Whered you get a good job? are they hiring lol? pay well enough for me to get an aprtment and build my car? haha. With a built bottom end and a novi/T-trim with blower cams, i don't see why you would have any problem hitting 550, and running deep 11s, if you don't break mid 11s its time to sell it, i don't see that being a problem since you already have track experience.

High compression(10:1) 4.6 with trickflow heads and a small single turbo would suite you very well. Thats what im gonna do to hopefully get mid 5XXrwhp and a nice street car. And i would definitely look into a new tranny like you wanted to get when you pulled the motor the first time.

Small turbo would spool very quickly with the higher compression, turbo cams, and the heads flowing more than stock. Take it to about 15lbs of boost and you'll be in the mid 500's and making a pretty decent amount of torque. One thing i like about turbos over superchargers is that they usually make more torque than supercharged cars. And you might argue that it is a little bit higher in the rpm band but when racing, when are you not in your rpm band???

i looked into turboing my car and i didn't feel like dealing with all the BS, i talked to a guy on here and he told me it cost him over a grand more just insulating and taping his turbo piping on both side, not just the hotside, and the whole thing was a big PITA journey. i forget his name but hes got the 900bhp TT cobra, idk if the heat would be a lesser problem with a single turbo, not to mention turbo headers for my car are expensive.

I'm not dead set on anything yet. But I will be doing something soon, starting w a forged bottom end. What's in the car now will work for now but I don't want to throw any power at it. I actually took my nitrous kit off so I'm not tempted lol. Maybe a mild build with a sc and a small shot? Hard to say just yet...hell I could keep stock heads, maybe throw cams in it and run a s trim, get around 400rw, and spray a little more. If I can get it in the low 11 teritory ill be content... And it seems like alota guys are doin that w a bottom end and a kb

yep kb or eaton and spray is common, it counter-acts the heat and makes the stock eaton on 03/04 cobras efficent untill like 18 lbs? Don't quote me on that lol but its something like that.

How much is the adapter from Tork-Tech or Teck? w/e? you could get an eaton cheap + port (or just a pulley) + spray and call it a day.

Also i forgot to mention in my turbo post, not only the turbo piping had to be insulated but any wires anywhere near the piping did or they would melt, at least thats what he told me, and that was enough to drive me away from turbo dreams, doesn't matter at this point, im about to throw what i have on my car and call it a day. lol. Goodluck with the build, all i can say is look into it a good deal and find out whats going to suit you best, talk to people that are actually running the set-ups you are inquiring about.
