sup guys!
I just finished talking to a mechanic that will swapping out my NPI with a 04gt engine(25kmi) for $400. I though it was cheap so I said yea. I decided not to do it because I have no idea how to do a swap- GAY! haha Wish I did.
Anyway,
so far I purchased some reinforced gaskets for my shortys and lock tight bolts from jegs which will arrive Tuesday. The mechanic told me to have the fluids ready by Tuesday as well, and this is where my questions come into play:
What kind/weight/whatever fluids should I buy? Radiator, motor oil/filter, brake and power steerign fluid is what I will need. Which ones? I also need a cai, and I do want the drop-in one- Which one? Tranny oil change or flush or something?
Anything else I'm forgetting?
Thanks for looking and your help....
Oh, man I'm exited! hahaha

What kind of automotive technician doesn't have the typical automotive fluids stocked in their auto center?
Im gonna pay for the stuff anyway, so he and I figured I just take the stuff once in for all. I always thought it was like that. And it sounds better to me because I give him what I want in my car instead of giving him the decision.
I think any radiator fluid will work nothing special about that. There are many different oils you can use and same with the oil filter. It is just a personally preference. I use Mobil 1 and their filter and have no problems. Other motor oils: Royal Purple, Castrol, Quaker, Motorcraft etc. I would get 5-20w. I run fully synthetic. For brake fluid just use the standard DOT 3 and any power steering fluid should work.
K&N drop in filter FTW
Congrats on your swap! You will see/feel a big difference.

I already bought 5w-30 Royal Purple with K&N filter, Prestone antifreeze(not the 50/50), preston 3dot brake fluid, prestone power steering and some fuel gumout injector cleaner. As far as the K&N drop in, I have no idea where to buy it rapidly by Friday. Autozone? Kragen? Car Quest?

Any of those places work.

Independent Garage's who order threw part stores like ac delco , auto zone , Murray's , auto mart and Napa. You dont think tech's that are not dedicated to a certain brand of car have every part and additive ever made to every brand automobile do you ? Sure they have typical motor oil but with certain kind of cars I would not just throw walmart brand oil in.
