Okay here is the difference. It's clear that the 270's are definantly better all around.

XE268H:
Lift- 500/500
Duration- 230-236 @ .050
LSA- 114 @ 110 IC

XE270AH:
Lift- 550/550
Duration- 234/238 @ .050
LSA-113 @ 109 IC

You're right about the 268's being for the NPI motor HOSS. They will of course work with the PI motor, but just won't be ideal.

Congrats op! Those #'s are very good (i'm a bit surprised) but they would've been better with the 270's.

Thanks man. I guess it's not all bad. From what I've read, keeping it at .500" helps maintain or gain some torque down low. I can't even keep the tires stuck to the pavement for the first two gears, which is quite a nice feeling. I'm wanting to put a SC on it in the spring and run around 6lbs of boost. I'm hoping that this cam will mate ok with a SC.

Those cams will work pretty good with a blower.

Wow nice numbers!!! Im lookin at the 270 next spring for my car. I can't get past the numbers! Thats nuts man!

Id say the 270s would put you over the 300 mark with another tune.

Yeah, the only thing is that I see most people putting down in the high 280's with the 270's so I'm not really sure.

Well the specs can't lie! The 270's have more lift, more duration, and a tighter lsa. It's basically a mathmatical certainty that your ride would have done even better with the 270's. Either your car responded exceptionally well for whatever reason, or the dyno was off.

Either way your dyno numbers are great, and it should make a pretty good difference.

Well if you don't want to buy another set for basically a few more hp then stick w/ the 268's. You made good power with em so stick with em.

No go to the track or somthing and get us some times lol.

I dunno mang, iv been looking at all the ppl with 270s numbers for the past year or so n hes dynoed the highest.

Cams arent all in this spec or that spec, the 270s may have more lift but they may have another property of the grind that just doesnt work. Iv never seen a dyno sheet of a 270 car go over 280s with just cams n bolt ons.

Look at Hitechs grind, they dont have the .56+ lift that CMS cams have but on the dyno they make the same if not more power..

Actually the reason Hitech's work so well is because of the massive intake duration. The PI head motor is really chocked up on the intake side. That alone makes up for the extra lift, and gives a better power curve in general.
