Default Ways to near 400 HP W/o Forced Induction.

Of course, no bigger engines and preferably not NOS.

I was thinking a CAI, Throttle Body, Plenum, Intake Spacer, etc.

but, that still doesn't get me near 400.

Just wondering if it can be done..

if not,

would be some of the best mods for under $1,000 to up the power the most.

all in a 2004 Mustang GT

In a 2v? I doubt it highly and would even say it's not possible. With a bottle or a blower? Sure...but I would imagine your max to be at about 360hp. And THATS going to cost thousands to do on all motor.

For 1K, I would try for heads or cams.

Just my two cents...

lol, i've studied this topic for days at a time. and heres what i've found.

First of all your not gonna do it with bolt on stuff, or for $1000, plain and simple.

1st your gonna need RPMS. your gonna need to rev the thing to atleast 8000. so theres a new balanced and blueprinted shortblock. now your gonna need some heads. Get the fox lake ported trickflows with TF's intake manifold. now you need cams. go to cushman and tell him you want a custom set ( same price as off the shelf cams) and what your goals are, he'll hook you up. that might just get your your 400rwhp with stock displacement, although a big bore teskid block would be ideal. im not sure the stock computer is fast enough for 8000 rpms either, i've heard both story's ( on 4v's anyways).
I like the idea but i honestly dont see 400rwhp on stock displacement.

you could swap on some 4v C heads and good cams, Nazman had 410rwhp on stock displacement i think. and when everything was done he had 53xrwhp all motor!

not trying to sound like a dick either, but honestly you should go for it, you'd have something different that very few people have!

These motors aren't made to make big power N/A and IMO they aren't worth trying either. That is unless you have a money growing tree in the backyard.

In all seriousness, what's the objection to going bigger on some areas or spraying? If done right, both can be extremely reliable, safe, and horsepower productive. Not trying to cramp your style, just wondering why it's not an option.
