Default short shifter question

i dont like how the stock 96 gt shifter is so long and its such a big gap when shifting gears..

i was wondering what the difference between all the short shifters different sites have to offer.. which is the best for daily driving?

not looking to spend alot but dont want something cheap and crappy..

I've had both the Pro 5.0 and my current Steeda Tri-Ax. I liked the Pro 5.0 short shifter because the shift was really really short but every so often when I would slam gears I would miss the 2nd to 3rd shift. With the Steeda Tri-Ax I have now the throw is a little longer but the shift from 2nd to 3rd is easy as pie and I have yet to miss a 2nd to 3rd shift. The Steeda short shifter is one of the best mods that I have bought for my car. I got my Steeda Tri-Ax Brand new off of Ebay for about $120.

I love my hurst! Anything is better than your stocker. Just make sure it has shift stops, the whole reason i bought mine, it will save your transmission it the long term.

+1 to both post above. I've owned the pro 5.0 and now steeda. Both do the same job. They shorten the shifts and make them more solid. Definitely a must for daily driver

I have the MGW & it's great. Great mod you can appreciate every time you shift - anything is better than the POS stocker.

I have the Steeda Tri Ax, and don't plan on changing it. I've driven stangs with the Hurst, MGW, Pro 50, and they didn't feel any better to me.

What is the proper wayto set the shift stops? I have heard. They can cause even more damage if not set right. The guy who has the hyatt, is it the chrome handle one? I found a chrome handle one for the t45 and I was curious how it looks I. A newer interior because the pics shows it in a fox
