$26K?? That guy is smoking crack. Blue Book, on the high end, is about $11K for an '01, maybe $13-$14K tops for '04. All GT's, 99-04, came with the SOHC 2V engines, and were rated at 260 hp through those years. 96-98 Cobras came with DOHC 4V engines rated at 305 hp, 99-01 Cobras also w/ 4V rated at 320 hp (although Ford had issues with the 99's not producing their advertised power). Now, 03-04 were the monster years for the Cobras, as they came with the factory superchargers and were rated at 390 hp. Keep your eyes open for an 03-04 Mach 1, they also had the 4V engine and were rated at 305 hp; this car I think makes a good compromise (price wise) between a GT and Cobra. All are great cars, imo, but the 4V cars are going to have an overall greater power and performance potential.

First off, every used V8 Mustang has been abused lol, it just matters to what extent. I would say look for 99-04 Mustangs. I have owned an sn95(96-98) GT and it was a nice car dont get me wrong, but it was slow. 15.4 @ 92 mph with 275 A/S tires, bassani offroad x pipe and flowmasters... The 03-04 edge Mustangs are the more athsetically pleasing cars IMO. I say go test drive a Mach 1 or a Cobra lol, they're a 4v DOHC vs a GT's 2v SOHC. Do your research and dont get a convertible lol. I think it makes the car look cheap... Also, I wouldnt buy one over 100k miles. Good luck and dont settle!

26k for a 01 cobra ? that is wayyyy to much money you can find 03 - 04(03 and 04 are the stock supercharged mustangs) cobras under that.As for the 4v on a gt none of them have ever had a stock 4v head,The 99-01 cobra's are more powerful then a gt, the gt was rated at 260hp and the cobra's are at 320hp.As for finding a gt for 10k, you should be able to get a very nice one, i got mine with 36k miles on it for 8k, you may be able to find a 99 or 01 cobra but it will be hard to find one that was not torn up.

Really the more I'm thinking about it the more I want a Mach 1, for the looks and the gidddy stupidity of the shaker. You guys got a thought on what might be a fair price for one?

Car prices seem to vary by region or locality. Where I'm at, Mach's seem to go for about $16-$18K.

Hmmm, if that seems to be about the price I may have to delay my getting of a Mustang then while I save up enough for a down payment since that's quite a premium over the 6-7k I was seeing for regular GTs around here.
