Default Engine swap

so i blew my engine in my 2000 GT. and i was wondering if i had to get a engine out of a gt or if i could get a 4.6 out of a crown vic or grand marque etc. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Why not use this as a chance to upgrade and go with a 3v or 4v?

How did you blow it? Rod? If the heads/intake is still good you can get any 4.6L or 5.4L short block that you want and toss em on. Heck, you could get a Teksid from a Mark VIII and slap your heads on it.

Otherwise, yes, you can get it out of a crown vic and just swap your intake over, just make sure that it's a PI engine, otherwise you will suffer major power loss.

yeah it matters what u did to the engine u have now. if u are strapped for cash, use whatever is still good off the engine on a different block.

Im pretty sure i threw a rod there is a hole in the side of the block leaking antifreeze and there is antifreeze in the oil.

You could find a Mark VIII motor for around the same price as a vic or marque motor.

you can can get mark viii motors ( 96-98 cobra motors) for like $500. there was one at my local junkyard for 300. i say go that way.
