Default 1998 GT

Hi guys, I am fixin to buy a 1998 Mustang GTwith 188,000 miles on it. I have a few questions. First I am very familiar with the 5.0's, Ive had 2 of them and loved them both. I did most of the upgrades and mods myself. Question is, with this many miles on a 4.6, what should I be looking for that might be a problem area with these engines? And are they as upgradeable as the 5.0's? The car is exceptionally clean and all the accessories work perfect, the interior is in very good shape. What problems do you all see the most with these engines?

look out for the usuall. look for any leaks, how the tranny shifts, any maintenance the previous owner performed on the car (this is important because with that many miles more expensive wear items are more likely to go bad like the water pump, wheel bearings, oil pump, things like that) and when you test drive it just make sure its good and sound with no misses or check engine lights. And yes the 4.6's have a very big aftermarket following. there are tons of manufactures that make parts for the 4.6.

Why waste your time on a car with such high miles?, unless your planning on doing a motor and trans swap right away.
