+1 haha when i first i saw the name for the pump a while ago i thought it was just the brand name or type of pump. Later on when i found out what it really was I couldnt believe that ford gave a fuel pump to a svt focus thats considered an upgrade for us... Just ridiculous...

yeah... so that doesn't answer my question...
the SVT focus has a 2L I-4 right? so, why is it better than the ones in our 4.6 v8?
yeap, I'll be there, I'm from carlisle

Probably because the SVT focus was made by a performance oriented engineering team that wouldn't even think about supplying just enough fuel. Just like the SVT cobra, absolutely did not need dual pumps to support it's stock power level. But if you are going to put the time and money into developing a SVT version of a production car, you probably aren't going to try and cut corners especially in the performance dept.

I don't know if you read the text from the link I posted http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38420. I tried everything thing possible to get to 400 hp with a 4.6 2v on a budget,I'm convinced it could not be done, sold the 4.6, and finally went the LS1 route. Hated to do it, but the build was all about budget.

The title of this thread really intrigued me because it was so similar to mine. I really wanted to see if things had changed since I started my build. It just seems as though you really have to drop alot of coin to make any serious HP with the mod motors. I still may change back to all Ford one day, the overhead cams have so much potential. Ron
