Default Any Problems with new Trick Flow Twisted Wedged heads for 2V's?

I ordered a set of Trick Flow Twisted Wedged Heads for my 4.6 2V from Summit Racing during the middle of January. The heads were paid via debit card and they took the money out of my account the next day. Since then, Summit changed the ship date 3 times. Now it is set -- for now -- for March 04.

When this head first hit the market last summer, some people had experienced problems with cracked castings. After a 2 month delay, Trick Flow supposedly corrected this problem. Now Trick Flow is delaying again and not saying why.

Anyone have or heard of any RECENT problems with this Twisted head?

The only problem I know is that it is a high demand part that is brand new to the market. mustang owners have been waiting for a aftermarket head for the 4.6L for about 14 years now. Trick flow is most certainly having issues with delivering the demanded quantity to people just like you.

Summit says they have only 8 sets of Twisted Tricks on back order since Jan 14th. Trick Flow has pushed back it's delivery date to Summit unitl March 04.

That is a very long time for a large company as Trick Flow to make 16 heads....

My set up is very complex. There is 25 to 30 hours labor involved in a head swap. At $80 per hour, that is good money. Should there be issues, it will be one royally expensive pain in the ***. This is why I am checking around. I can easily change order to a Patriot head. I was going with the Twisted Tricks so I can run a higher lift cam. My YSI will love the extra air/fuel.

25-30 hours for a head swap?!?! That can't be correct, right?

With my setup, yes. P51 intake, Long Tube Headers, Vortech and Aftercooler. Engine has to be pulled off the K frame.

$2000 for the Twisted Tricks. Plus bigger injects, BIG cam, MAF and Dyno Tune. Never mine another $200 for gaskets. Those items are running another $1900 alone. I am also going with a 8 rib pulley set and a 10 pecent overdrive damper with a 3.33 pulley. The Pulley set and damper will run another $1000. I already have the Cobra tank setup with 2 SVT Focus pumps and the wire upgrade. So that saves me $2000. Lets say this deal will run upwards of $7500. I am expecting another 115 rwhp.

I called Trick Flow today. They said they are having trouble with the castings -- as they didn't meet specs. They sent them back to the foundry for corrections. 2 to 3 week delay.

Well, trick flow is owned by summit, so they will be the first to get them. Can't do anything but wait.
