Default What cold air intakes are better?

I was wondering what cold air intake systems are better the ones that go in the fender or the ones that sit in the engine bay. Because i have found a Steeda cold air intake that is in pretty good shape for only $100 this is what it looks like http://www.steeda.com/products/steed...airt_96-04.php and it sits in the engine bay. Am i wasting my money our should i buy it.

To be honest, i'm not sure it makes much difference. I mean my K&N CAI sits in the engine bay, and it seems to work just fine. A CAI makes such a tiny difference as it is, so comparing fenderwell styles to the engine bay style is really splitting hairs IMO.

performance gains are negligible but I have a steeda cai and it whistles nicely with my tb and plenum. ppl always ask me if my car is boosted and then I laugh at them.

yeah, you won't see a measurable/noticeable gain, it'll make things a tad louder, my JLT makes a whistle noise when I'm running at real low RPMs, I'd say save your money and buy some 4.10 gears

just replace the filter with a K&N...mine came with a Densecharger CAI...but took out an elbow so it wouldnt sit so low in the fender to avoid big puddles and hydrolocking it.

just picked up a K&N filter as a tune-up part....if i had a stock intake...i would leave it alone and replace the filter.
