i'm pretty sure you guys are paranoid about the rods and pistons. the 99-01 cobras and mach1's have the same rods and pistons that we have, yet they redline at near 7k as mentioned. the only thing better their shortblock has is the forged/balanced crank. coincidentally the automatic mach1 still has 4v yet its redline is the same as the GT and it does not have the cobra crank, it has the cast GT crank.

As was mentioned before, the primary limiting factor is valve springs. After that its balancing. 2v motors aren't balanced to spin that fast.

But didnt you blow an engine or two....and transmission or two Haha?

You were spraying as well though which is double trouble. Why did you rev that high does nitrous change the power you make up top that much?

I blew an engine because of oiling issues...issue being not enough in the car and it hurt the cam caps which hurt the oil pressure and that threw a rod bearing.

And the trannys yes... But let's look at how I drive my car... About 3 tenths faster then every one else...

And yes on motor i go thru at 106...on the bottle I trap 115ish... So u let 4th rev out to get the extra mph and not ride the limiter... A lot of guys do this...
