yeah thats what we thought too but to eliminate a another run to the parts store we picked up both, just to be sure. The 2.5 donut was just too big and the 2 1/4 fit in perfect. Worked like a charm. Remember the donut sits down inside the flared/trumpet end of the x/h pipe.

I know it's an old thread, but I was reading it I just couldn't stand it! LOL Thanks for the info though, my daughters 'stang may not be a Cobra or a Shelby, but it still has an exhaust leak!
