Yeah, if you are pulling out of any gear and the shifter is anywhere but centered without you putting pressure to either side, their might be something wrong with the shifter or the centering spring. I can't imagine driving a car with centering springs much stiffer than mine. In any case, if the shifter is bad, then replace that bish with whatever you like. I was thinking it was kind of a waste to replace a good working Pro5.0 with something else. A broken or damaged one is a different story.

Billet steel with the threaded shaft welded on isn't cheap construction though. It's a ton strongerthan billet aliminum that has bees anodized or whatever. It's just not as pretty. But the shifter boot covers the shifter anyways unless you are cliffyk!

the pro5.0 i have doesnt have a welded anything. its an aluminium shifter handle thats threaded which is bolted to the shifter. and honestly i could hang of the f in MGW and get no movement what so ever. It so far is the only after market shifter that i have seen and used that is 100% solid. in gear and out. Hard to explain. You should find someone who has one and try it out. or buy mine..have no need for the t-45 one anymore lol. need money to replace the hammered pro5.0 Although it doesnt seem to be a bad shifter.

Sounds like you don't have the original handle then. The pro5.0 is steel not aluminum. Does your handle say pro5.0 on it or is it just marked on the base plate? I have a friend with an mgw on his 03 gt and another with the triax on his bullitt. They are all good shifters, but it really comes down to personal preference.

The MGW and the triax felt about the same and were much more of a comfortable shift vs the pro5.0. The pro5.0 just feels more precise. One of the cool things about the MGW is the ability to adjust it which is helpful for shorter drivers that have a hard time reaching 5th without leaning forward. But the longer handle comes with a price of a slightly longer throw.

They are all good shifters, but I prefer the pro5.0 and so did both of my friends after driving my car. The guy with the MGW offered to trade me after the first time driving my car.

Ok Bman, here is my car off the line running a 13.015 @ 108.9 with a 1.89 60ft. This is basically the same as I ran my 12.88 but the 60ft was a 1.807 60. Notice how much spin I have compared to a dead hook. I have a lot of room for improvement in the launch department. I should have the rear upgraded by next week, and soo after will come some better times hopefully. Well, either way I will be faster once I spray also

your shifts dont sound to bad....that launch though....holy hell. I would never have guess under 2.0 with that much tire spin, do you slip the clutch at all? with the amount of traction you seem to be missing id say ride the clutch like 80% out for almost half the gear. after that you dont have enough wheel spin for me to say dont powershift!!! lcas will help with the hopppppp

I have aftermarket LCAs, the wheel hop started when I removed the quad shocks. What a worthless 5 pound reduction that was. I'll try slipping it a bit more next time, but I seem to cut better 60s just dropping it as long as both tires hook. Here's a clip of one of my burnouts. You can see the right tire slow down considerably and almost come to a stop during the burnout. I can't wait to get my rear fixed.

Edit: btw that is the 2011 GT in the left lane running a 12.7 bone stock auto
