Default weight removal totals

so after removing everything from behind the dash and reinstalling this is what i was left with:

all a/c and heat pieces minus the compressor: 20.6 lbs
all sound deadening under carpet and the firewall carpeting: 15.4lbs
metal plate behind dash (dash was weighed with it): 65lbs
removing the metal plate dash weighed:16lbs
front portion of roll cage being installed: 38lbs
custom piping to hold steering wheel in: 8lbs

total so far: 85lbs removed 52lbs added
so 33lbs has been completely removed

i still havent gotten underneathe the car to remove the compressor off the motor but i will get the weights on that once i take it off. probably tomorrow. off to get another tattoo today.

have you gotten a lighter battery and relocated it to the trunk? that should help a bit. you can also remove the sway bars and quad shocks, depending on what kind of racing your gonna do.

How is the dash now without the metal plate behind it? I'm assuming that supports the dash. Is that why you needed to have some custom tubing to hold up the steering column?

All Convertibles have a 25lb slug weight behind the passenger fender.

No one ever told me about it till I got rid of my car, stupid bastards. ...All of them.

I bet there is a reason for it to.. Most likely dampens vibrations.
