Default does IAC placement matter? (in a blow through application)

So I have essentially switched to a blow through system now. Only problem is the car will not run until it is tuned (on saturday)

My question is that some people are telling me that my car will not idle correctly when the IAC is before the MAF. How true is this? Do I REALLY need to weld another nipple onto the intake pipe for the IAC or can I get by with where it is at right now? (currently on the intake side of the blower, before the MAF now)

The IAC (Idle Air Control) valve is on the throttle body; are you speaking of the air feed pipe to the IAC?

If so, then yes the IAC needs to be fed from a metered source, I.e. after the MAF so that the PCM knows how much air the IAC is passing...

Yes you have to put it after your MAF. If you don't, then your car will have no idea how much air it is getting because all the air going into the IAC is not metered.

It will not idle properly, may stall, and it will not be right--how tolerable all that is is up to you...

I agree with this. Needs to be AFTER the MAF. You will most likely have idling issues.
