Arrow Brake Problems, Front Brakes Sticking, I'm Stumped!

So I just replaced the brakes all around on my '01 Mustang and when I got done I took her down the road and I could feel my brakes sticking. I got out and looked at the rotors and the front two were very shiny and hot, while the back two were not hot at all and still had spots of surface rust on them (it had been setting a couple weeks).

From what I can tell the front two are sticking uniformly, while the back two seem not to be fully working uniformly. The front ones are not sticking bad, and honestly someone that had never drivin my car probably could not tell but I can notice it. Because both front ones seem to be rubbing when I don't apply my brakes and they are donig it at the same rate, (I think they are sticking uniformly because when I am not hitting my brakes, and hitting them, it does not pull at all either way) I think it has to do with my master cylinder or my ABS. My abs light is on but I don't want to take it to a dealership and pay big $$ just for them to tell me why my light is on.

A thought I had was that when I was compressing my brake pistons back in and the brake fluid was pushing back into my master cylinder I may had messed up a valve (maybe equalizer valve) in my master cylinder.

If anyone has had this problem or have an idea on why my front brakes are sticking and my back ones are not working fully any help would be very muchly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time to anyone with some insite!

I am not terribly familiar with Ford brake systems, but as a former GM tech, the ABS module could have a motor/valve stuck which should trigger the ABS light you have. All brake fluid goes through the ABS module before gettting to the wheels, and especially since you have ABS light that module could have a problem.

I haven't bled my brakes because:

I never pulled off any of my brake lines nor did I ever open any bleeders, so I don't see how any air would get into my lines.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but if you brakes need to be bled that would give you a mushy brake pedal, while I am having the problem with my front brakes sticking..

Hmmm.. I would try the basics and just give the system a good bleeding... It can't hurt and it will help get rid of some of that mushy'ness you are feeling...

Bleed the master cyclinder (both bleeder screws) and the brakes... See if that fixes anything...

Otherwise you may be looking into a rebuild for your calipers

U most likely didnt put the pads in right. Take em off and reinstall them. if you dont put them in right they will stick. When we did my IRS swap the guy I traded with put his in wrong and his rears were sticking.

Take your pads off and re-do it.
