Default Throttle Body Time!!

Hey guys I was just looking at some throttle bodies for a 2000 mustang gt on a couple websites and there are so many different sizes and brands I really dont know what the difference is between them. Also my car has no tune on it and I dont plan to anyway, but I didnt know if that would affect which one I should get. If any of you guys have had a bad/good experience with any of a specific brand please let me know. Thanks in advance.

If you have no plans to get a tune/tuner then don't waste $$ on any intake mods--just get a 2-1/2" H or X-pipe, and a 2-1/2" cat-back, that's about all that will provide any noticeable benefit without a tune...

One major suggestion, don't buy BBK. I bought a stack racing, because my brother broke a bolt on my other one and couldn't get it fixed. Anyways, I love it, no problems with it. If you have the extra money, I'd buy the accufab.

I put a 75mm Professional Products throttle body and the highflow plenum and I like mine pretty good. I noticed a little bit more throttle response. It's definitely worth it though.

^^ I have the same as this guy, and am happy as well. You can usually find the Professional Prod's 70 or 75mm tb & plenum combo for about $200. If you're gonna keep your stock plenum, just get a 70mm (75mm won't fit, I'm, pretty sure). And try to keep an open mind about picking up a handheld tuner, they come in handy for lots of stuff besides forcing you to fill with premium gas.

Don't know when you're going to need it but I will be selling my TB & Plenum (and some more bolt ons) after I return from my deployment. Installing a S/C and I want to upgrade to a bigger TB and want a polished plenum (going with stack racing) PM me if your're interested..

75mm will fit with a stock intake pipe, i ran it for about a month before gettin the JLT short ram. i have found nothin wrong with my BBK tb personally, and have compared it to a few others.. they all seem about the same apperance-wise really, with Accufab being the exception. i would recommend gettin one if you have manual due to better throttle response. its not drastic, but it helps with shifts.

I have the BBK 78mm combo Plenum/TB and couldn't be happier with it, after fixing a vaccum leak that I caused when changing it.

A 70mm will work just as good as a 75mm unless your going more than bolt ons. I'm not the biggest fan of BBK products but i've really enjoyed my BKK t/b as well. 2 years and still great But my vote: Accufab or Dragon (if i was you or if i had a do-over)

Well, you may want to consider getting a tuner...a TB isn't going to do as much without it. However, that aside, I can definitely recommend Trickflow/Summit brands, both are a great bang for the buck product. As far as size goes, 70mm is what many recommend for NA vehicles, but I purchased the 75mm and love it.
