Ok, so after deciding that it would be more $ and work than I wanted to get involved with right now (because I'm trying to move along on my '71 project) I decided to skip the Saleen conversion, but did go for a used '04 Cobra bumper I found locally on Craig's List. Only problem was that the car it came off of had a 4" turbo down pipe cut through the side of the cover. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it, so I sectioned in a piece of my GT bumper to repair it. I also found a MINT stock hood locally on Craig's List for $50! it came off a car with only 20K.
I just need to paint the new hood and bumper, and get a new a/c condenser. I put the bumper on for a pre-fit until I paint it.

Dude, ditch that Cobra emblem.

Fobras are the ultimate in cheese. Ask anyone. The bumper looks sweet. Cant wait till I get mine.

Clearly someone was never taught that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
I say to each their own, you may say its cheesy, but I say it's my car, I have to drive it, not you. In this hobby you have to respect the hard work people put into their cars to make them what THEY want, not what others think isn't "the ultimate in cheese"!

Ya man that's messed up. The OP has spent a lot of time and done a lot of work to his car and you come in here and say how "cheesy" the Cobra emblem is...?

OP car looks good. Don't listen to the haters.

Obsidian71,
Since I'm also doing a Cobra bumper swap on my '04 GT, I thought I'd ask a couple of questions:
How'd you deal with the hood to bumper fit between the headlamps?
What kind of materials do you use to re-shape the plastic?
Thanks!
