Default Hood pin installation help.

I have hood pins i got for free from my friend i have no idea where to drill in the radiator support. I would like to put them in on the outside of the cowl not on the cowl itself. Does anyone have an install writeup or some pics just to help me out? Thanks guys

I have taken some pics fore EXACTLY this question a few weeks back for someone else. I will dig them up and post 'em for you.

This is an easy one, as there is really only one good place to install them and even with both sides too.

Jazzer

EDIT: Found some and someone elses pics, but as good as mine were.

oh nice thanks a lot jazzer! SO you just took the bump stops out and put spacers on the pins to makeup for the stops correct?

When I did mine, I had no examples or pics, but seemed the logical place to put them. Just so happened that there was the bumpstops there and were centered perfectly and was a good area of the hood (yours may differ, but should be fine)

The length of the pins is adjustable and would recommend the FRPP via StangMods:

All the weather exposed parts are SS and won't rust. I ended up installing a set of thread-couplings into the frame so the pins would thread into those. I also use some nylon washers on top to avoid the scratches that will eventually deface the chrome trim rings.

If you need more pics, LMK

I ended up welding a nut where the bumpstops were. Putting them through the hole wouldn't work for me, the hood was wayyy too low,

This is what I did too, then I relocated a bumpstop to the header panel so I could level the hood and still have some cushion.

I didn't have to do any welding or anything. I did put the hood pins where the hood bumpers went but I was also able to reuse the bumpers in a different spot. But I think my way will not work if you still have the factory plastic rad cover
