Kenne Bell or Cobra
I have a 04 GT with 49k miles on it. Im the original owner and its in near perfect condition. Im debating on adding a 6psi kenne bell or buying an 03/04 cobra. I want to keep my stang and add the blower however Im worried about engine/tranny issues with the blower. Thoughts please !
Thanks

I spent 12 hours installing a KB 2.1L on my GT today(not finished). Get a Cobra without a doubt, and not because a KB install is hard or anything. There are infinite advantages to having a Cobra.
Non IC Kenne Bell kits are a waste of money, youl be sucking up 250 degree F air. When you slap the IC on and bump it up to 8-9 PSI now you're at the stock rotating assembly's breaking limit(because of power, not heat). So either you keep it there and run it for years and get lucky that it doesnt break. Or you end up blowing it up anyways. With a Cobra you have WAY more room to improve though you have an inferior blower comparatively. With a cobra you have 4V heads, forged internals, a better stock fuel system plus MAF(very important), a manual transmission that can actually hold the power and a car that looks twice as good. The sky is the limit with a Cobra, the blower is the limit with the GT. Once again the only advantage with a GT KB is a straight rear axle and a superior supercharger. Problem is you can only take advantage of the efficiency of the KB, not the potential unless you upgrade your connecting rods and pistons.
I will note that I wouldn't bother with either a KB GT or Cobra unless you love Mustangs and high performance. Neither fit an owner that isn't obsessed with their Mustang.

ive been debating this exact thing for a while, i decided to go with the kenne bell 2.1. make sure you get the intercooled kit tho, or it runs way too hot. if you are gonna put that kinda money into a supercharger tho i'd recommend getting some new internals first. it might take longer / cost more but your better off doing it the right way the first time.
