Transmission Swap?

Transmission Swap?
Hey everyone I have a 2001 mustang gt with an automatic tranny. I want to swap it out for a manual transmission. Now i know obviously i need to buy the tranny, a shifter, shift cables, clutch but what else would i need to get in order to change out my tranny and how would my car run after the swap and is it even worth it??

Depends on your goals for the car. You can run the same times or faster with a properly setup automatic. It is a whole lot more consistent and easier on the rest of your car having an auto.
If you are interested in drag racing then I would advise you to look into a higher stall converter. If you just want to swap to a manual because you like driving a stick, then you are on the right track for the parts list.
Trans, Manual trans wiring harness, Flywheel (make sure to get the right bolt pattern for your year), engine separator plate, clutch, clutch cable, shifter, front driveshaft yoke, pedal assembly, shifter boot, and you will need a tune.

You definitley should check out AMP Performance they have transmission conversion kits for people that want to swap their automatic transmissions to manual transmissions. They could save you money and time from
peicing together the parts.

I've played around with this idea before and I determined it's not worth it. If/When I decide to do something it'll be a built auto and stall. But, +1 on AMP because they offer kits, but keep in mind they're used transmissions for the base swap kits.
