Default Just gathering opinions.

I plan on repainting my car hopefully this summer, and want to know your opinions concerning the badges? Should I shave the side and trunk badges or leave them? Right now my 99' gt has 40th special editions badges on the fenders. lol If I left them I would buy all new chrome badges, but I've always loved the look of a shaved clean car. So... What do you all think?

Or side thought. Paint them on, I could do my own custom "GT" Logo.

depends. shaved ALWAYS looks clean, but badges can also look sick as hell. if you're going through all that work, i would look at some of the nicer badges than just plain GT ones. i dont know what all is done to your car, but i really love the 4.6 "power adder" badges i'll call them. the ones that say like 4.6supercharged or 4.6nitrous or 4.6turbocharged. theres also some other badass ones too (and i like the 281 badges, the plain V8 badges, the what is it...v8 badge with the checkered flags it was on some old car). just depends on what you have done to your car (if you can even use the power adder badges), what your car looks like now if the badges would even look good on there, etc...

american muscle has some badges
50resto has some

look around and see if you can find osmething that you think would really pop on your car. if you don't like the way any of them look, then go shaved. if you find a badge you think would look sick, then give it a try and have someone photoshop it on for you before you get your car in the booth.

No idea, I knew it wasn't an Anniversary edition, but the 40th vs 35th didn't even dawn on my till after I had it for a week haha.

I'm not sure on color yet, if I can afford another DD then ill totally strip it and do a full color change. Black, Silver, or Blue I have no idea yet. If I don't have enough funds period then ill repaint it the same color and just play with the metallic, add, subtract. Ill shoot a few color samples and see what I like better.

For those of you who plan on painting your cars or just want a mini version you can paint yourself. Look at this -----> http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/7428/

It comes clear, and you can strip the paint and re try it a few times. I have one I'm working on, but had some bad paint so need to strip it and try again.

TBH, if I could, I'd do the Tri-Color pont badges. I love those badges on New Edges. They look like they properly belong there. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd replace my GT emblems with the pony badges easily.

I never cared for the font that the 99-04 "GT" logo is in. It just looks so uninspired and boring. I miss my 00 v6 sometimes just because it had the good ol tri-color pony on it.

I still think shaved would be the best. An excuse to play with photo shop more, just need some good pics of the car.

I just had my car painted a few months ago and I hade the trunk badges shaved, holes welded etc etc, also shaved the antenna. Its a very clean look but I keep fender badges cause I love being called a fobra.
