Drag Radials???
So the next drag season is about to start in 6weeks. I have Nitto 555 extremes. They are a good street tire but dont think they will give me good times at the trac. Not enough traction. I've always heard the Nitto 555r drag radials were good. I just saw that Nitto has a new set out. Nitto NT05R drag radials. Which one is better? Or which other tire is really good at getting some traction at the strip. Share how much your tire help. EX:time differnce, etc. I dont want slicks. Yet. Thanks

it's kind of a double sided sword:
My personal experience from me personally, and all buddies that run drag radials at the track/street
Nittos...long street life but worst at track
BFG's...decent street life, decent at track
MT's....worst street life, best at track
basically, the more street life you get out of them, they will sacrafice on track quality...catch my flow?

Alright if you want a tire that is going to hook go with the mt et street or the Nitto NT05R, if you want a tire that will take a massive burnout to get warmed up but will last a while on the street go with the Nitto 555R. i have had Nitto 555R's, MT ET streets, and currently have Nitto NT05R's on my car right now. The ET Streets and NT05Rs hook the best but only plan on getting 5-6k miles out of them. The 555R will hook decent but you will need to do a john force burnout to get them sticky, but they will last upwards or 15-18k miles.

^^thats what ive always heard...since it seems that you drive the car a lot id do the BFG or NTO5R.
Because my 555s held for sh*t at the track haha...i couldn't get lower then a 2.3 60ft and im at around the same power as you. And i was even slipping the clutch.

It all depends on what you're really focusing on. How many miles a year would you be putting on these tires and how often are you willing to replace them? The 555R's bridge the gap between a good street tire and a drag radial. The rest mentioned above are more of a pure drag radial.
