Default Coil packs on 94-98 GT's relocated

I been seeing a lot of pictures of sn95's (on AM) with the coil packs not in the original place...what I'm wondering is where do people relocate their coil packs? I'm clueless because I don't see where the Spark plug wires lead to. Can someone enlighten me? Please and thanks.

Don't do it. For the love of GOD just leave it alone. That said there is a kit you can buy that will mount them Above and Behind the on the firewall. You better know what you're doing if you do this and if you have to extend any wires you better have good soldering skills.

All of that said, there is nothing more awesome than a huge set of thick plug wires w/ covers snaking their way to the coil packs.

I've seen people relocate them somehow under the intake manifold. Don't know if it worked or not, but I saw pictures...I think. Might have been you nerd.

Post a link about what you are talking about. Just to confirm you are not looking at a Coil on Plug engine

Do you mean in the Valley? Whoever would do that is smoking crack, that would mean if you wanted to change a CP or wire you would have to pull the intake manifold off every time. Def not worth it.

To be clear, this is impossible to do with a stock intake.

Not Crack. This is before the COP conversion. I never had any issues with it, you can get to it the packs by taking off the Alternator. If you just need to change your wires you only had to stick your hand trough the runners.

I didn't start having trouble with spark until I did the COP conversion and that was at 6500+. (The stock RPM gauge is untrustworthy trying to measure that high so I would venture to guess it was somewhere nearer 7k.)

I would never do this again. I would also convert FROM COP TO Packs and Wires. It is a much better set up for High HP & HIGH RPM's.

Well that solved this doubt I had. Don't worry I'm not relocating the coil packs. I never realized you can concert to COP. Maybe that's why I haven't been seeing spark plug wires.

Sometimes I forget that a motor is just a big machine and can be tweaked just like any other machine in any other equipment. The beauty of mechanics.
