Default T56 transmission

Hello everyone,

Im in search of a t56 6-speed transmission. My t45 is in need of a rebuild and with the legitamate oppurtunity for me to put some major power adders on my stang I'd much rather just swap to a t56. Any condition will do, as long as bell housing is in tact. I have tools and resources to rebuild if necessary.

Ps. Admins I apologize if this is not the appropriate forum for this thread.

Can't help ya with getting one, just wanted to let you know to make sure you check on the specific gearing on the one you end up with. They come with a couple/few different ranges of gearing (specifically the 1st gear ratio) so you may want to go with a different rear end gear to compensate.

I believe there are 2 differnt first gear ratios but either way I can change how I like. A tech that I work with specializes in t56 trannys and can help me build it to handle 1200 hp. Unfortunatly the only ones he has available that are either already rebuilt or in the making are for C5 vettes, and ws6's

All,03 04 cobras have the same 1st gear. Aftermarket ones have different first gears but if ur going to build it theres no point in getting an aftermarket one. And if ur building it for 1200hp u should be in an auto

then a stock cobra t56 is fine. if your worried put a 26spline input. don't really need much more than that.

I dont know if anyone uses one that high. Im just saying thats what it is rated at. Yeah stock would be fine, but I dont care if its grinding or what not because knowing it is in used condition I would rebuild it before install either way.

thats stupid, if you find a good tranny with low miles theres no need for a rebuild its a waste of time/money yes ik your buddy does it but u still have to buy parts. i got mine for 1500 with 15,000 miles on it with an upgraded 26spline input.
