Interesting that since I posted this I have looked at a handfull of 03/04 Cobras, 1 '12 Boss and 1 '13 Boss. I would lean more towards the Boss even though having a Cobra would be nice. I just can't get myself to part with the GT, but having an updated vehicle sure would be nice. Even a '13 5.0 would be a nice step up.

See I am the exact same way, It would be awesome to have a nicer/more comfortable interior and a motor that is a lot better but I can't get rid of my car, once I started modding it I became attached lol

id personally go with 03 or 04 cobra.. because you can get them cheaper than a boss 302.. and put about the difference price in performance upgrades and have a bitchin ride that wines like no other!

I get attached to my autos like a hoarder. I would pick an 08 Shelby over a boss, bigger displacement and sounds cooler and you don't have those cheeZe boss wheels, I mean chrome lipped black rims I thought were reserved for Chevy pickups and new gen 6cylinder wanna be ss camaro.

I'm always blown away by the fact that so many people turn a blind eye to the financial side of these comparisons. If boss' cost a million dollars would people finally start paying a little attention, no pun intended? Has anyone ever seen what a decent set of catbacks cost for a new 5.0? After taxes and shipping its damn near a grand. Thats corvette money. And what do you have after a few of the highly suggested mods in this thread? Just another of the three billion new 5.0s on the road right now that dont distinguish themselves. When I see an 03 Cobra I always feel compelled to stare at it as long as I can. When I see a new 5.0 I go.....oh........and my day continues.

This should be an insanely easy decision. At the end of the day the absolute only thing the new 5.0 has on the 03 cobra is a much better valve train(which is quite impressive) and a little more displacement. 03 are on top on every single other category that should be relevant to you. No silly sound tubes and a flashy interior that runs you $200 worth of your monthly car note(which is gigantic).

If you wanna be a slave to a bank just to say 5.0 BRUHHHHHHHHHHH then go do that.

New 5.0 = Great platform + Faerie Dust and Glitter
Terminator = Feasibility, Grit, Exclusivity

You are right, this would be an insanely easy decision for me. I'd definitely get the BOSS302. A great car just like it comes.

If you want to mod the hell out of the car, you would be right in saying that you could do more mods if you start with the lower priced car.
