If you place the sensor in a larger housing you can use the formula to calculate a multiplication factor to apply to the transfer function:

Where:

IDnew = the inside diameter of the new housing;
IDold = the inside diameter of the old housing;

For example an existing 80mm housing is replaced with a 90mm housing:

90˛ = 8100mm˛
80˛ = 6400mm˛

8100/6400 = 1.26, so multiply the air flow numbers in the transfer function by 1.26. This is not 100% precise, however it will set the curve sufficiently close that the engine will run well enough for further tweaking.

Soldier GT and I run this MAF and both love it. As said earlier, its pretty much the best MAF available and is pretty much impossible to peg.

I will be using VMP's housing and from I am told this will be ideal for making sure the MAF is doing what it is designed to do.

You (or your tuner) will still need the resulting transfer function for that sensor mounted in the new housing...

I am hoping that is what this disc is for that they sent along with the new MAF.

I suspect it is--used to be they sent a piece of paper--but these are modern times...
