Sorry but need opinions on 1/4 times

Yes, light flywheel is bad for drag racing. Drag cars use heavy flywheels not lighter ones.
Just sticky tires should net a gain of around 0.5 seconds in ET (0.2 in 60' = ~ 0.5 in ET). The 3.90 gears vs 3.27 should net a gain of around 0.25 in ET or more.
What were your 60' times with the tires/gears/flywheel, and what were your trap speeds? The gears should have increased your Traps.

Makes since. Untill i have the power to really push 1-3 so i can use 4th to its potential vs shift to 4th-race is done. I plan to do suspension in the near future. Its "cheep" and makes a difference, vs how much extra power to keep spinning to reach the same result.

maybe...i cant compare or try anymore. I only had a few runs on the new gears, before i blew the motor, then i swaped the tranny. then when i had 6 speed problems i only ran the light flywheel and gears set up with the 5 speed, and i only managed a 13.6 and a 1.98 maybe my experiance isnt normal, but i dont have suspension, and i can def. drive the **** out of my car. So i just thought i would share. But now that i have the 6 speed in a can barely trap 100 and best time is 13.9. I added a lot of weight with that thing, and of course im scared to be to hard on it at the moment as well as power shifting being more dificult. so my best 60 at the moment is 2.1

Bman,
Just keep working to sort out the issues and you will get back to where you hope to be. Different set-ups respond differently to specific techniques. Once you get some more passes at the track, I'm confident you will see the improvements.
GOOD LUCK!!!
BTW, the point of these forums IS to share and explore ideas and experiences, so don't stop posting up your thoughts!!! Nothing says that either one of us is 100% right or wrong. Other guys need to take all input with a grain of salt and make their own conclusions.

I cant say for Firebird yet, but Speedworld when I went I was impressed. It was Vacuumed, drug with the big piece of rubber, then TC was sprayed the entire length of the track. The facility is old and kinda raggity. But the track was amazing. And the food was excellent i thought.

i was shooting for 12s with bolts on, only a few people have been able to do it, but ive given up on that now, so no more stress for me. I will say track prep has everything to do with how well you perform at the strip though. cuz even though not all of our cars have major power, without good prep you wont get out of the hole to save your life. Everyone has a tendancy to be more aggressive at the track. Hell i can powershift second with street tires and 3.90s and not have traction issues. But no track prep and im a dead man. lol just a note.
Oh i may try one last time before i SC, altho im thinking i might do it with weapon x cops installed, and strip the weight it one last effort to hit 12s with bolt ons lol.
